Incident Summary:

10/8/2006: Armed members of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Fighting (GSPC) kidnapped Rabah Tchina, an Algerian citizen, as he was driving in Boukerdane, Algeria. The assailants demanded a 900 million centime ransom from the victim's relatives in exchange for his release. One day later, a 600 million centime ransom was paid and Tchina was freed.
