Incident Summary:

10/14/2006: Residents of a rural Shi i town near Baghdad (about 50 miles from Baghdad) shot 26 people from a nearby Sunni village dead in the town of Balad. The killings were in response to the slaughter of 14 Shi i construction workers. It has been reported that Sunni Militiamen were responsible for this attack, but there was no claim of responsiblity.
