Incident Summary:

11/22/2006: An unknown number of suspected Taliban gunmen on motorbikes opened fire on a female provincial councilor Zarghona Kakar’s car in southern Afghanistan. The councilwoman was not hurt, but her husband, who was also in the car, was killed in the incident. The Islamist Taliban movement was suspected but there was no confirmation of responsibility.
