01/19/2007: One policeman was killed and four people, including two policemen and two civilians, were wounded as armed men opened fire on a security checkpoint in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Reports varied as to the vehicles used in the attack; one reported that two armed motorcyclists were responsible while another stated that a passenger car carried the attackers. No claim of responsibility was forthcoming.
