06/02/2007: Senior al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) commander Muwaffaq al-Jugheifi was shot and killed by an unknown number of suspected Anbar Salvation Council perpetrators firing small arms from two civilian vehicles in a morning attack outside the Abu Ayyub al-Ansari Mosque, Fallujahh, al-Anbar Governorate, Iraq. Anbar Salvation Council claimed responsibility for the attack.
