06/04/2007: No casualties were reported when Muslim perpetrators removed 28 bolts from a rail line and burned tires on the rails overnight in an attempt to derail a train near the Bantase train station in Yala City, Yala Province, Thailand. No claim of responsibility was reported.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
