Incident Summary:

8/16/2007: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, remotely detonated a bomb targeting a municipal guardsman returning to his home on El Mechmel road in Ain Zaouia, Algeria. The victim was wounded by the blast. Algerian security forces located and defused another bomb that was planted ten meters away from where the attack took place.
