Incident Summary:
9/16/2007: One person was killed and another wounded when activists from Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha - Jwala Singh (JTMM-J) threw a bomb at a passenger bus in Parwanipur, Bara, Nepal. The bus, which was traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu, was apparently attacked for defying the strike imposed on the area by JTMM-J. A JTMM-J spokesperson claimed credit for the attack.

Also wounded was Raju Shrestha, a passenger on the bus. Police believe that the deceased person was a member of JTMM-J, but the group denies that any of their members were killed in the action. Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
