Incident Summary:

11/06/2007: Warring factions fought over control of land in the Nandigram village in an attempt to capture as much land as possible before the Central Reserve Police Force came into the area. The actions occurred in Nandigram, West Bengal state, in Indian. Police believed that at least one of the groups involved was the Communist Party of India - Marxist group. At least ten people were killed in the violence. Both sides were heavily armed.
