01/10/2008: Nigeria's main militant group, The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta threatened to fire at oil tankers on the Bonny River in an effort to cause an “economic tsunami” on the worlds oil market. Their previous attacks have crippled oil production in Africa's top exporter.
