01/14/2008: Judge Amir Jawdat al-Naeeb, a Sunni Arab judge, was killed by gunmen as he was being driven to work. Authorities believe the attack was one of a longstanding campaign by militants to kill doctors, professors, lawyers and other professionals. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
