Incident Summary:

04/07/2008: On Monday afternoon at 1320, at least one person was hurt in a bomb attack in New Baneshwor, a market area in Kathmandu, in Nepal. The explosion occurred near the electoral assembly venue of Nepali Congress. Armed Police Force Deputy Superintendent Bhim Bahadur Chaudhary said that a socket bomb went off near the Birendra International Convention Centre complex. Analysts say that attacks are an attempt by groups opposed to the elections to intimidate voters. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
