4/14/2008: On Monday, seventeen civilians were injured in an armed attack by suspected al-Qaeda militants in Balad city, Salah al-Din, Iraq. A group of 20 to 30 gunmen attacked Tal al-Thahab village in Yatrhreb district in Balad. Residents clashed with the gunmen, killing four of them, including a local leader. No one claimed responsibility for the incident.
