Incident Summary:

06/04/2008: On Wednesday night around 2030, about 30 suspected New People's Army (NPA) rebels robbed the Tanduay Distillery Inc workers of money and jewelry and burned three 10-wheeler deliver trucks at the Barcelona Port in Old Poblacion Village, Escalante, Negros Occidental, Philippines. The assailants were armed with rifles and handguns, and had cut the power and telephone lines to prevent workers from calling for help. They poured gasoline onto the delivery trucks and set them on fire. Damage is estimated to be $US 130,325. The motive behind the attack is believed to be that the company refused to pay revolutionary taxes. No group claimed responsibility, though it is believed the NPA were responsible.
