Incident Summary:

07/08/2008: On Tuesday afternoon, Chief Judge Sher Gol was gunned down in an assassination attack by the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan insurgents in the Latak area in the outskirts of Khost district, Khost province, Afghanistan. A Taliban spokesman claiming responsibility for the incident on behalf of the group said Sher Gol was murdered for awarding death and jail sentences to imprisoned Taliban insurgents.
