08/09/2008: On Saturday morning, assailants detonated an improvised explosive device targeting the Abdullah Gul Bridge on the Kabul-Kandahar Highway in Herat, Ghazni, Afghanistan, damaging the bridge but causing no casualties. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed the Taliban was responsible.
