09/22/2008: On Monday, at about 6:00 AM, in Somali, Ethiopia, Somali assailants kidnapped a Japanese doctor and a Dutch nurse, both of whom were working for the charity Doctors of the World (MDM). The victims were moved into Somalia. A spokesperson for a suspected offshoot of Al-Shabaab al-Islamiya claimed responsibility.
