Incident Summary:

10/8/2008: Suspected members of Al-Qa ida in the Lands of the Islamic Maghreb (AQLIM) kidnapped and killed an Algerian civilian in El Hassi, Algeria. The assailants booby-trapped the victims body with two bombs. Two days later, an Algerian army major was killed by the detonation of the bombs as he attempted to recover the corpse of the kidnapped civilian.
