10/21/2008: On Tuesday afternoon, Taliban militants detonated a land mine in Khayr Kot district, Paktika province, Afghanistan. Authorities reported that the land mine blast killed one civilian. Taliban spokesman Zabihollah Mojahed claimed responsibility for the incident over the telephone saying that the blast destroyed the vehicle of a security commander and wounded several policemen.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
