04/16/2009: On Thursday, according to a local news report, Al Shabaab fighters in Baidoa, Bay, Somalia have abducted Muhidin Hassan Mohammad, a Somali radio journalist who they accuse of printing lies about their fighters. Mohammad reportedly broadcasted a story accusing Shabaab fighters of extorting money from Somali civilians at illegal roadblocks. Colleagues of the victim have been told by Shabaab forces that the man will stand trail for the broadcast.
