04/28/2009: On Tuesday, in Pattani, Thailand, armed assailants fired upon a Buddhist government official riding his motorcycle, killing the official and damaging his motorcycle. The motive is believed to be to frighten Buddhist residents into leaving the area. No group has claimed responsibility, but Muslim separatists area believed to be responsible.
