Incident Summary:
06/17/2009: On Wednesday around 1200 noon, in a village in Belabo, Narsingdi, Dhaka, Bangladesh, locals set fire to around 50 houses, protesting the killing of Jubo League leader, Abdus Sattar. The residence of a Union Parishad (UP) Chairman at Belabo was included in the arson. Aggrieved locals took positions around the houses of the chairman and his accomplices in the village and set fire to them. No casualties were reported. Two men were arrested in connection with the attack.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
