Incident Summary:

08/20/2009: On Thursday, armed men on a motorbike tossed a grenade towards a pre-wedding event in the township of General Lunain Carmen township in North Cotabato province, leaving one dead and 20 wounded. The explosion ripped the victim's body and some of the body parts were blown up to 10 meters away from the explosion site. No group claimed responsibility for the attack but the authorities tagged the Muslim rebel groups in the Mindanao region as responsible.
