08/25/2009: On Tuesday, in Batabari, Chirang, Assam, India, suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland militants shot a 50-year-old woman, identified as Deushree Basumatary, at her residence. She sustained a bullet injury to her abdomen and underwent a successful operation at Lower Assam Hospital. Her husband, Sobharam Basumatary, is a supporter of the Hagrama-led BPF party which is the suspected reason for the shooting. No group claimed responsibility.
