08/31/2009: On Monday evening at about 2000, in Al Khalis, Diyala, Iraq, assailants detonated an improvised explosive device near a local market as a government motorcade was passing by, wounding a district commissioner, his son, his brother, and three bodyguards and damaging the market and at least one convoy vehicle. No group claimed responsibility.
