Incident Summary:

09/16/2009: On Wednesday night, in Shwepaukan, one of a series of seven bomb explosions took place. There were no casualties because there were almost no people around when the blasts happened. No group claimed responsibility for the attacks. The official said the blasts of small, handmade explosive devices caused minor damage, but no injuries. The timing of the blasts suggested they could be linked to a political protest. Friday is the second anniversary of the start of massive but short-lived pro-democracy protests in Yangon led by Buddhist monks. No group claimed responsibility.
