Incident Summary:

09/30/2009: On Wednesday at 1200 noon, in Chanae, Narathiwat, Thailand, the chairman of Chang Puag Tambon Administrative Organization, Ku-ayi Tuanpa, was killed in a drive-by shooting at the Lamphu intersection. Mr. Ku-ayi was driving a pickup in company with his friend, Sinuden Satorpa, a village chief, when they were attacked by gunmen in another pick-up. He died on the spot. Mr Sinuden was seriously injured and admitted to Narathiwat Ratchanakarin hospital. The driver of the pick-up truck was also killed in the attack. Police blamed separatist militants for the attack. No group claimed responsibility and no damage was reported.
