Incident Summary:

10/03/2009: On Saturday, morning, in Puruliya, West Bengal, India, an improvised explosive device exploded near railroad tracks between the Kantadih and Urma train stations, damaging the tracks but causing no casualties. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed a Maoist faction was responsible. Communist Party of India (Maoist) has called for a 24-hour countrywide bandh on Saturday to protest against the arrest of tribal leader Chhatradhar Mahato, which is believed to be the reason for the attack.
