Incident Summary:
10/21/2009: On Wednesday, a woman, was killed and two men, wounded in an ambush by suspected insurgents in Muang, Yala, Thailand. The three were among ten villagers travelling in a pickup truck to work yesterday in Muang district. The vehicle was attacked by armed men hiding in a forest as it neared a bridge in Ban Limanipis. Nit Tinchana, 45, was killed while Chop Jandi and Pian Boonprom were taken to Yala General Hospital for their injuries. No group claimed responsibility.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
