Incident Summary:

11/08/2009: On Sunday morning at 0655, in Bannang Sata, Yala, Thailand, armed assailants fired upon a group of civilians collecting wild plants in the forest to sell at a local market, killing a 34 year old Buddhist civilian and seriously wounding his 40 year old colleague. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed Muslim separatists were responsible.
