Incident Summary:

01/16/2010: On Saturday, in an unspecified location of the Faryab province, Afghanistan, two Chinese engineers, two Afghan drivers and two guards were kidnapped by the Taliban. On 1/19/2010 the four Afghans were released after negotiations by tribal elders and the Taliban. The two Chinese engineers were still in militant custody. No casualties were reported.
