Incident Summary:

04/02/2010: On Friday, in an unspecified location in the Konduz province of Afghanistan, unknown assailants kidnapped a 40-year-old Japanese journalist by the name of Kosuke Tsuneoka, and took him to an unknown location. The freelance journalist had been in Afghanistan since mid March to cover the Taliban. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown and no group claimed responsibility, thought the Taliban was suspected to be responsible.
