Incident Summary:

04/23/2010: On Friday afternoon, in a series of seven explosions, a car bomb exploded outside a mosque in Zafaraniyah, Baghdad, Iraq, killing one and wounding six others. No damages were reported in the attack. Car bombs also exploded near mosques in al-Hurriya and Al-Ameen and near a political office and near a market in Sadr; while roadside bombs were detonated in Dora and Rahmaniyah. The attacks occurred at the close of noon prayers. No group claimed responsibility however, al-Qaeda is suspected. The attacks came five days after and Iraqi-US military operation purportedly killed al-Qaeda’s two top leaders Abu Ayyub al-Masri, and his associate, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, who led the Islamic State of Iraq.
