08/28/2010: On Saturday evening, in the Shindand district of Herat, Afghanistan, a group of unidentified assailants shot and killed a contender for the upcoming parliamentary elections, Haji Abdul Manan, as he was walking from his home to a mosque for evening prayers. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
