Incident Summary:

11/02/2010: On Tuesday evening, in Sadr City, Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq, in one of 15 related bombings beginning around 1830 and taking place within 90 minutes of each other, suspected Al Qaeda assailants detonated a vehicle born improvised explosive device near a police station, killing 21 civilians. The bombing came hours after a memorial service for hostages and officers killed in a church attack two days prior. The amount of property damage from this attack is unknown. Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), the Al Qaeda front in Iraq, claimed responsibility for the attack. A statement posted on an Islamic website claimed that the attacks were the beginning of more attacks to come against Shiite Muslims.
