Incident Summary:

11/09/2010: On Tuesday morning around 0800, in Showak, Paktia, Afghanistan, the district governor of Showak, Ali Abadi, was killed and his car destroyed when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb. The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, but Taliban militants regularly plant roadside bombs to target Afghan forces and the Unites States-led foreign presence in the country. No group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that the Taliban were responsible.
