Incident Summary:

11/23/2010: On Tuesday morning at 0900, near the village of Karabudakhkent, Dagestan, Russia, an officer and top official of the regional Federal Security Service, identified as Lieutenant Colonel Magomed Said Gadzhiyev, was killed when unidentified militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED). The IED was attached to his Niva service vehicle parked outside of the regional Federal Security Service building. Gadzhiyev was rushed to the hospital, were he later died from his injuries. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. An unknown amount of property damage resulted from the attack.
