11/23/2010: On Tuesday night at 0400, on the Herat-Kandahar main road in the Ab Khormai area in Balabolok district, Farah, Afghanistan, unidentified militants opened fire on a passenger bus wounding four civilians. The militants also kidnapped 10 others. No damages were reported and no group claimed responsibility but the Taliban was suspected. The status of the hostage is unknown.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
