Incident Summary:

12/04/2010: On Saturday, in the Chatra Bazaar area of Giridih, Jharkhand, India, a group of unidentified militants attacked the vehicle of Nunulal Marandi, the younger brother of former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi. According to police, Nunulal was inaugurating a campaign office of a Zila Parishad candidate for the ongoing panchayat elections at Chatro bazaar when about six cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) opened fire on him. No casualties or damages were reported and no group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that Maoists were responsible.
