Incident Summary:

12/18/2010: On Saturday, in Lahij city, Lahij province,Yemen, Captain Mohammed Ali Abdullah Hadween, who is also a prominent chieftain of a pro-government northern influential tribe, was taken hostage at a checkpoint set up by unidentified militants while he was among passengers travelling from Aden to the capital Sanaa. No casualties were reported and the status of the hostage is unknown. No group has claimed responsibility for the hostage taking.
