Incident Summary:

01/18/2011: On Tuesday night, in Kabul city, Kabul province, Afghanistan, an assailant attacked an Afghan journalist, Razaq Mamoon, with acid as he left his home. Mamoon suffered first degree burns which were not life threatening to 10 percent of his face and hands. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. A suspect, identified only as Rafiullah, admitted to attacking Mamoon and has been arrested.
