Incident Summary:
05/17/2011: On Tuesday morning around 1000, at Tujjar Sharief in Sopore, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, India, unidentified assailants attacked and killed a police officer on leave, identified as Mohammad Shafi Dar. Reportedly, Dar was fired on while he was waiting for a bus, sustaining an injury to his leg. When Dar tried to escape, a militant chased him and shot him at close range, killing him. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
