11/8/2011: Unidentified assailants detonated an explosive device at a government checkpoint in Howlwadag District near Bakaaraha Market in Mogadishu, Benadir region, Somalia. Two soldiers were killed and nine others were injured in the incident. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incident.
