Incident Summary:

11/24/2011: Three bombs exploded in succession in a market in central Basra, Basra governorate, Iraq. Two explosive devices, including a vehicle borne device, detonated simultaneously; the third blast followed shortly, once first responders had arrived. At least 21 people were killed in the explosions and another 80 people were injured. High ranking military and police officers were counted among the dead. No group claimed responsibility for the incident and specific motive is unknown.
