12/17/2011: Abdul Baqi Raghbat, former director of the Border and Tribal Affairs Department in Kandahar, was shot dead by an unknown number of Taliban militants as he was walking in Kandahar, Kandahar, Afghanistan. A Taliban spokesperson claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that Raghbat was targeted because of his former job.
