01/14/2012: An explosive device detonated in the home of a Popular Resistance Committee leader in Rafah city, Gaza Strip, West Bank and Gaza Strip. The leader died and four other people were injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident, and the Israeli government denied any involvement.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
