01/18/2012: Gunmen opened fire on the vehicle of General Ghazi Ahmed Ali near Aden University, Aden city, Adan governorate, Yemen. Ali was the head of security and intelligence in Aden. Two bodyguards were injured in the attack, but Ali survived. No group claimed responsibility for the incident, but sources suspected Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP); the group had claimed two previous assassination attempts on Ali.
