Incident Summary:

01/28/2012: At least one assailant attacked a polling station in Thangpi village, Chandel district, Manipur state, India. The attacker was posing as a voter in line, demanded that polling be stopped and, when it was not, opened fire. Five people were killed, and one of the attackers was injured. No group claimed responsibility, but authorities attributed the incident to the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM).
