02/03/2012: Assailants intercepted a bus and abducted two United States citizens and their Egyptian tour guide near Saint Catherine, South Sinai governorate, Sinai province, Egypt. The hostages were released two hours later unharmed. No group claimed responsibility for the incident, but there is suspicion that the kidnappers were seeking ransom.
