04/04/2012: A suicide bomber detonated during an event at the National Theater in Mogadishu city, Banaadir region, Somalia. Officials believed the intended target of the attack was Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohammed Ali. Ten people, including several government officials, were killed in the explosion, and an unknown number of others were injured. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it targeted members of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) because the TFG is serving and supporting the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
